Mais um Festival de Música no Brasil

O festival SWU (Start With You) vai rolar nos dias 9 e 11 de outubro em uma fazenda em Itu, no interior de São Paulo. Provavelmente a mesma que vai abrigar o Woodstock por aqui.

Hoje, no site do evento, foi confirmado mais dois nomes internacionais para a sua programação.

Os grupos norte-americanos Kings of Leon e Sublime!

Sublime, que acabou em 96, após a morte do vocalista Bradley Nowell, voltou a tocar no ano passado, com Rome Ramirez nos vocais. O grupo fez um acordo com os familiares de Nowell e adotou outro nome, Sublime With Rome, para poder se apresentar.

Além deles, o festival vai contar com Linkin Park, Dave Matthews Band e Pixies. Outra banda que está confirmada é a Incubus!

Cara, Incubus no Brasil! Vou precisar roubar uma velhinha ou fazer malabarismo no sinal pra conseguir ir nesse show.

Os ingressos para o festival começarão a serem vendidos à meia-noite do dia 13 desse mês (julho). Os valores ainda não foram divulgados.

O festival contará com dois palcos abertos, para os shows principais, e dois fechados para a galera mais nova (lê-se "sem nome significativo") e uma tenda pra música eletrônica.

A expectativa é de receber cerca de 70 mil pessoas em cada um dos três dias do evento.

Ouvindo: Incubus parte I

Estou transferindo aos poucos, algumas coisas de um outro blog meu pra cá. São coisas que eu curto e que eu faço questão de recomendar para que as pessoas conheçam.
Por isso criei a coluna "Ouvindo" pra falar de música por aqui.
E gostaria de começar por uma banda que realmente estou ouvindo ultimamente.

Incubus é uma banda interessante. Vindos da Califórnia, da cidade de Calabasas, essa banda de rock alternativo começou tocando covers das bandas Metallica e Megadeth! O som só se definiu, depois que a banda resolveu parar de tirar covers e fazer músicas próprias e no segundo álbum, com a entrada de um DJ, onde seu som virou uma mistura de rock, eletrônico com hip-hop e funk (o verdadeiro funk, não aquilo que tocam no Rio).

Comecei a ouví-los à partir do álbum "Morning View" que na minha opinião é um dos melhores trabalhos deles.
A banda é composta por Brandon Boyd (vocal e percurssão), Mike Einziger (guitarra), Jose Pasillas (bateria), Ben Kenney (baixista) e DJ Kilmore (turntables e piano).

A origem do nome "Incubus" vem de um tipo de demônio mitológico, o nome foi escolhido ao acaso algumas horas antes do primeiro show.
